That is why they invented "Roundup", I think.

Trying to stay unpolitical here, but “tariffs” and “trade war” are the answer. Lots of things we like in this hobby are going up in price.

On the up side, so is the junk from Hoffman group.

Fixed a huge oil leak on my ‘64 Bel Air. Teflon tape on brass coupler above oil filter for low pressure sender gave up. New coupler, sender, tape, and sealer fixed er up!

Day isn't over yet, I may try to uncover the Steelback and do something constructive tomorrow.

Took my wife to a couple of flea markets where I usually find some car parts or old signs. The only car parts I saw was a pair of rusty, pitted all to hell 63 Imperial headlights that the guy didn't know what they were but wanted $350.00 for and two Rambler hubcaps. The only thing I bought was a few heavy storage totes and bottles of water because it was so damn hot. I had to hear all the way home what a waste of time it was and I must be nuts to go out in this heat and sweat like a pig. Note to self- no more invites to wife to go to flea markets. Saving grace of the day was at a yard sale on the way home where I bought a 348 tri-carb manifold and a factory Hurst 4 speed shifter out of a 65 GTO for 20 bucks.

I got my new English wheel set up and painted. Yes, I realize the anvil and dies are supposed to be turned 90° from where they are... I'm only doing smaller pieces right now but when I do larger ones I'll be sure to turn them! Now all I need to do is stripe it up!

coupe engine running rough 350 Chev
put new plugs in, no change
had my mechanic call around, "lets check the cheapest repairs first" he said
    pulled 600 Holley down. OK
check plug leads, MSD, vacuum hose, all nuts and bolts tight, all OK
put in another set of plugs. no change on test run
well lets get serious, compression test, one cylinder no good
valve cover off, broken exhaust valve spring, rear one on right side
over the life of engine (was fully rebuilt by engine shop)
this is the 3rd spring to let go
anyway we know the problem now and new spring has been
ordered from interstate, should be fixed in a few days

  20. Took the timing cover off my 390 to fix a front seal leak. It was a bit damp this spring but after yesterday's 250 mile drive it was looking kinda wet. :(
Better to fix it before there is oil dripping off the back bumper. :)

Street raced a young teen kid in a beat up old S10....We were at a traffic light leaving the city limits...he is alongside, gives me a thumbs up with the 32... Then I get his attention again by giving the pointing-ahead sign..."wanna race?"

Lol.. he looked excited, yet soooo DETERMINED! ...I leave hard at half throttle, spinning the bias, no traction.. and I'm still beating him...LMAO.. I had to almost hit the brake to let him get ahead before the road goes to single lane!!

Man, that truck had no muffler, he over revved it so F'n bad the ignition cut out!!

    We had fun.. :)

  26. I started working on my project car again, after a nearly 8 month delay! I had planned on putting it to the side for maybe a month or two...

Progress consisted of finally getting the body bolted to the frame (well half the bolts anyway) which doesn't sound like much but considering the lull I've been in it's huge... If nothing else, now the body won't shift on the frame every time I push the car to where ever it needs to be.
