Made new wood ribs to repair a Stearman that suffered a ground loop. Recovering with Irish Linen and Butyrate (love that smell) is next up for another morning.

  4. Today I told my mother in law off. She fucking needed it.

Yesterday I spent the day getting things lined out to haul a couple of cars. It was hot and nasty but it needed to happen.

image.jpeg Made another Mr. Customer very happy with a custom shaped seat frame for his slammed 36 Plymouth pickup. It's a great feeling knowing your helping someones dream come true.

Building barn doors for my garage out in 95 degree heat because I was stupid and didn't get it done when it was a lot cooler. The old overhead door decided to fall on my head and it got a free ride to the scrap yard.

Something TOTALLY not hot rod related. But I sure felt good about doing it. An elderly lady in our neighborhood (yea, she's older than me) has a golf cart---she uses it to get around our local streets, my wife mention she has brake problems and she's worried about driving it. Could I take it to the local shop for her? Sure I've got a utility trailer---No problem. First problem----We've had a nasty heat wave recently and the Cart shop was backed up 2 weeks. Too hot to work all day and batteries frying. Second problem----In the process of driving it to my place and the trailer the front suspension was hopping around like a drunk frog----besides hardly any brakes. Seeing as the shop didn't even have space for it for at LEAST a week. What the heck, I'll take a look at it. Pulled the rear wheels, shoes and drums looked pretty good. Golf cart brakes are cable operated, and older ones are definitely NOT self adjusting. All it needed was adjusting. Google says there is an adjustment screw---There was, it worked as advertised. Got GOOD brakes. The lane jumping was really obvious when you jacked up the front end. The front wheels would jump in or out A LOT when you pulled or pushed the top of the wheel. The play was in the lower spring bolt. Back to Google. The spring is held against the spindle by a bolt and rubber bushing. Short story, the rubber is long gone, replaced both sides. Problem solved. What does this have to do with Hot Rods? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING But the happiness it bought to her? ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING-----And THATS what I did in my garage this after noon. BILL RINALDI

Thanks. I should have done a build or catch up on one. But work and life....8 years to get to point of driving was a rush.

    Ruh Roh!

Went to the beach yesterday to beat the 90 degree heat, should have waited until Sunday, prediction is calling for near 100 degrees.

    Hey beaner
When is the last time you went to Cannon Beach?
Turned into quite the tourist trap.

96° [again] out but managed to cut a few areas of grass [weeds] that managed to grow; trimmed a few weeds/trees and then the heat did me in..Got to have a talk with the wife; she plants stuff but fails to keep it trimmed so turns in to a big narly mess.
