Yard cleanup work. Broke the handle on the yard vac, so there was an unexpected delay while I fixed that. Bandsaw and grinder to make some gussets, flap wheel to clean the area, bit of welding, and it shouldn’t break there again.

Got my fan, shroud and overflow tank mounted. Polished up the brackets I made for the overflow tank last night. Now waiting for my Summit order with the hose fittings I need to put the cooling system back together.

Probably going to change the oil tomorrow. It’s supposed to be a rainy day, so no yard work.

Not run or even had an engine in the bay since 1996 when it last ran El Mirage my sons 311” GMC came to life about noon today we started bringing our old LSR ‘40 Chevrolet to the street 11 months ago. I’ve listed milestones here and our son Patrick feeds the Inliners International Facebook Page. Tom Langdon’s ignition fired so quick it scared us. Added 5* and it ran for 25 minutes at 2200 rpm. Photos of him checking temps on each end of the head. No leaks, no aromas so the pvc system is working. Actually held some paper on the rocker cover breather/oil filler. Mounted the other three tires on the 1911 Hupmobile wheels, took an hour and a half. Kind of pissed me off since I've been putting off doing it for months. Photos tomorrow after things get washed up. Happy Easter! Bob

Well since everyone is posting their yard work..:)

Tilled, screeded and tamped another spot for pavers, more hot rod parking. I should keep going on it tomorrow but I think the Bantam is calling me..

  6. The last few days, put the rear end together for the roadster, Then I started on the front end ran into a problem with the steering arms. They contacted the louvers in the backing plates, now I'll have to use another set and get them powder coated. IMG_20200410_185031327.jpg IMG_20200410_185637968.jpg IMG_20200410_185629178.jpg

  7. I cleaned up the blower carb adapter I bought here in the classifieds

    20200410_203110.jpg

Then searched the internet for an accelerator pump linkage rod for an Edelbrock carb that came on the 57 p/u, tough to find one under $30 bucks but finally found a kit for $20 that had one in it. Hopefully the carb is good after all that aggravation.

Then the microwave took a shit, so more internet searching for one that had good reviews, seems everyone is buying smart microwaves with power inverters. I don't get why you need Alexa to turn on your microwave if you're standing in front of it putting food in. I did find a regular one with a grill though, that should be good for reheating pizza, so that'll take a week to ship here. Big adventures I know..
    Happy Easter everyone !

Installed another free small-block for another friend in need. Did the cam break in, and then tuned it solid.

If you want a better world, get to work building it. It won't happen without you.

Some people work hard to have a lawn like the one you use to store gravel and build fires on. Happy Easter!

Drilled holes to make my push bars a little less ugly. Not sure I succeeded, but they are lighter!

Man I am with you on that one. I decided to replace my microwave last year. It was working, just rusting on the inside. It had one, count 'em one, rotating knob. Put the food in, slam the door, turn the knob to the time you want, off it went. So I went to get a new one, all have digital dial pads, clocks and a 50 page manual. I'm not cooking gourmet meals, there is already a clock in the kitchen, I just want my hot pocket hot.

Pulled the 39 out of the garage and gave it a bath, went and fueled it up, came back and took the little women for a 2 hour ride on the backroads.
Man, it sure felt nice finally having some descent weather and being able to do something. :D

About 45 or our car club members got together and 'paraded' through Senior Citizen retirement homes. We visited a total of five of them in Lake Jackson, Clute, and Angleton, Texas. Got lots of smiles and thumbs up from the residents who can't have visitors at this time. We hope it brightened their day a little. Here are a few of the participants. That is me in my T-Bucket. 92830416_10220097815589747_8799324869134123008_n.jpg 93367005_10220097812989682_3233917998007844864_n.jpg 93375753_10220097816309765_3629780804353130496_n.jpg 93203007_10220097810509620_474513755003158528_n.jpg 93142565_10220097813909705_5332190705299226624_n.jpg

    From the BillyBob Shop log

April 13th 2020 Shop inventory continues with the left side of the corner sit down work bench. On top is a 9 qt heated, ultrasonic cleaner, 2 small parts muffin tins, parts pan, long tweezers, and a Maglite with dead, corroded batteries. In the corner below is a tire leak test tub and medium funnel.

Left to right is a plastic tool box containing a 3/8" drill motor, wire wheels, flap wheel, wool buffs, and two trays on assorted steel and wood drill bits, hole gauges and hole saws. My Uncle Tom Kephart included this in the mother lode of tools he gave me when he and my Aunt Marianne were selling their house in Melbourne.

Next is a Rigid bore scope, and a small tool kit with most of the tools missing. Only items remaining are electrical tape, feeler gauge, terminals and wire stripper/crimper. Next is a body hammer and dolly kit, DeWalt hammer drill and 5 parts trays.

To the left of the bench is a broken shop fridge with a vintage metal cooler on top. A small plastic cooler is inside the vintage cooler.

Inside the shop fridge is a computer tool set, wire nut collection, crimper/striper, CalTerm wiring tool set, box of car bulbs, grommets, flasher, another box of bubs, fuses, terminals, 6 rolls of electrical tape and a battery tender.

  26. Did one of those "I can fix that" jobs on Saturday. Basically I got tired of chasing the pump handle for the engine hoist.

    ^^ How it actually works.

    ^^ Much better.

  27. Went under the car to replace my Allstar oil filter housing with an AC Delco unit, I read that the Allstar one takes a Ford filter which may explain some of my oil leak. The AC parts were cheap enough.

Greased my sway bar and drag link.. ran out of grease. Discovered that my Energy Suspension tie rod boots are CRACKED. I bought them to replace my hecho en India ones that cracked before I drove the car. Cleaned the car out, fixed a couple of loose door handle knobs and went for a long ride.

Broke in the camshaft of my new crate engine in my C10. And waddayouknow? First time right. No coolant leaks, no oil leaks, no ticking or rattling. 20 minutes on 2300 rpm without any issues. Temperature and oil stayed perfect.

    I am a happy man.
