Finished the oil filter plumbing. Readied the clutch for installation Saturday. 29F34F34-8108-4014-B6E5-6CB70C6EDDCB.jpeg EC4E7838-F0F9-42D9-9A11-038571FA0E44.jpeg

Screenshot_2020-02-27-16-47-55.png Blocked down high spots in layer of Bondo Glass applied over layer of fiberglass applied over holes drilled for pulling worst dent in back of rear fender ('39 Chevy coupe) two days ago. Removed paint around backside of 2" x3" hole with wire brush in drill. (Where '65 (?) Impala light was removed.) Applied 2 layers of fiberglass cloth to backside of hole to prepare for filling with Bondo Glass. Applied layer of Bondo over Bondo Glass.

Did photo cropping from previous page.

11" clutch? My 302 has an 11" Hays and it fills up the bellhousing to the point of rubbing the high points off the pressure plate enclosure.

    From the BillyBob Shop log

February 28th 2020 The brake rod swing arm parts were masked, PRE Paint prepped and given the Extreme Chassis Black treatment before being assembled again. I found nice new mounting bolts, washers and hex nuts in my inventory but failed to find the cotter pins I need. I remember buying a cotter pin assortment but could find no evidence for that memory.

An unexpected bonus is that I found three long bolts and they looked to be the same thread as the Jimmy head bolts. They were. I can cut the heads off two of them and use them as guide pins when the head is re mated to the block down the road. I put them aside for that purpose.

I ordered a cotter pin assortment and the swing arm component will join the pedal assembly in the storage box for future installation when it arrives. Beer of the day was Fordham & Dominion Brewing Company's Winter Chills Ale.

Yes, had it in my stash from use from 1976. It’s never been on a stock flywheel. The 11” diaphragm had no chance, hoping the B&B will make it. It had the lightest springs. It was in that same bellhousing I hope we don’t need to go to the 10” flywheel then I’ll need to buy a complete clutch as I have none buried that size...

  7. It is nice to see pieces come off the floor, workbenches & office desk...That means progress is being made on the 64GP

I must be crazy doing 3 cars at the same time with my transporting schedule, but nobody lives forever.

The other 2 are each a year off topic, so I won't talk about them.

That last picture shows why I love those southwest desert cars....100% rust-free AMC

    God Bless

Clutch and new Richmond Super T -10 went in today. Old Hurst linkage was real close to being too short and the new trans has only one mount. Clutch linkage works perfect, bought a new kit from Classic Industries for $23.99. Nice when you live about 4 miles from them. Larger hole in the floor as everything has been moved back 2”.. 88083603-24A5-4941-A59A-1848E3BC6D8B.jpeg 44E513B2-FE0C-4F00-B642-0D44B328EA0D.jpeg

Oil change and grease for the DD, which wouldn’t be HAMB worthy, but this thing is.

Made it significantly easier and faster, especially for for the U joint that has to be rotated so that the zerk is up, facing the floor, to get enough side clearance to get on it. That one has always been a pain.

I found a T leaf and crossmember for the 34 locally which was cool. I also removed the last few rivets to get the frame apart for sand blasting and then the fun begins!

  17. Two weeks ago I disassembled a queen box to fit in the trash cart; 'bout 3/4's of the way thru and too late to stop, I figured it would have been easy to make it a twin for when Ardun (granddaughter) stays over since she has outgrown the crib sized mattress.

  18. I hit our local indoor show, Binbrook Speed out of Canada had a really nice T there

This one was neat, although I thought the front was a little different looking

And bought these 15x4 Bart rims on line, which I've never seen before, the shipping package said 21.20 lbs which is pretty light, hopefully be delivered tomorrow.

First time in the garage since November. Have been buying new front sheet metal for my ‘57. Started installing all of it today, nice day out, finally! Moving slow but moving!

Got the 29 and one of the 32s out today. Batteries charged, oils changed, fluids filled, greased, cleaned up and took both for a stroll. Great way to end the weekend! Back to work tomorrow, damn I need to just retire....

Drip rail on the Slantwindow shell is a great place to clamp things you need to photograph. First thing I've done with it in months. Bob DSCF5699.JPG

March 2nd 2020 The third and last of the components making up the brake and clutch linkages is the master cylinder and its support cage. I think this master cylinder is a '75 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup, manual disc front and drum rear brakes item, Raybestos mc39177. At any rate, the spare I bought back in 2011 looks like this one and that's what the spare is.

I've always wanted a black '57 with Cragers or chrome reverse. I mean, those fins and that hood on one car? What else is there?

    PS: Cliff,
    Smooth

Just another day making things melty... The B pillar on the Merc is slanted 1.5" past what it was supposed to be. The '47 Ford will get a few more custom touches before going to paint. 20200302_215506.jpg IMG_20200302_212416_390.jpg IMG_20200302_212416_391.jpg

If you haven't seen it, that bottom shot looks like the Hot Wheels Tail Dragger.

Finished dent repair/hole filling. Started top down on fender. (Gave my neighbors a break from the d.a.) IMG_20200302_214431.jpg IMG_20200302_214316.jpg

March 3rd 2020 There wasn't much grease on the master cylinder cage so, no Oileater soaking for this item. Most of the paint was flaking off due to brake fluid contact and it was given a session with wire cup in the Dremel motor tool instead. Then an Evapo-Rust treatment got all the rusted parts ready for painting. The spare master cylinder was in the same place I remember storing it years ago. It was a good day.

Ha. My OEM plumbing has begun to punish me if I have more than one craft beer in a sitting so, two times out of three, I'm imbibing something I've already reported.
