What cool car did you own in your Senior Year of high school?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 2many projects, Aug 29, 2008.

  1. Damn, when you see the subject in the list just skip past it! What's the big deal? There was over 500 posts so somebody sure as hell didn't get the message that it's been covered before....

None. I grew up so poor that if I didn't wake up with a boner I had nothing to play with all day!

1963 pontiac tempest with a cut quaker state can and 2 hose clamps to patch an exhaust leak which gave it that wicked log truck sound. The year was 1981.

  10. Graduated in 1994 and drove a 1959 Chevy Bel-Air 4 door sedan mild custom/lowrider.

Drove my Mom's 73' Grand Prix SJ which had a 455 motor and honeycomb wheels. I use to smoke those mid-to-late 70's Trans-Am's with that car, and only sold it after
I got married and it was costing too much for our budget at the time. I sure wish I
    had that car again!

I had a girl in my shop class (I was the teacher) a couple of years ago that drove a Cadillac hearse, black primer with red wheels and all the skull stuff you can think of. She really was a little bit scary. I would have loved to have you in my class to show some these import wankers what's up. haha

Worked as fast as I could to get it running, but didn't get it fired up until after I graduated. Here's a video still from that day:

My dad let me drive is '65 chevy pickup, which I put into the back of jag. lesson: highschool kids shouldn't be trusted with cool cars.

Not the original picture, I had to borrow this from the internet. 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1. I had a lot of fun with that car. Six months after graduation, I put it dead center into a telephone pole. RIP!

1956 Ford Customline bought senior year in high school 1978.

I drove it through four years of college (in NY), two summers working at Oldsmobile (Lansing,MI), AND for a full year after college graduation.

YES !! I still have it today - currently stripped down to body on frame for eventual reconstruciton.

  20. Class of 1987. My brother totalled my 54 Chevy pickup so I bought a 54 Ford Mainline tudor.

    Still have it.

Not mine (I wish!) but in senior-year,
    circa-1973, a high-school buddy had a
    '69 375hp/396 Nova SS with 4.11 gears,
Hooker headers and Casler cheater slicks
that he drove to school everyday. Another
guy at my school - not one of my buddies
though - had a bright yellow '60 Frontenac
    (a rare, 'one-year-only' Canadian Mercury
version of the Ford Falcon) sedan-delivery
with an Econoline van straight axle and a
    built 327 Chevy small-block.

I graduated in 2007. My 1st job was dedicated to saving for a 1969 cadillac superior sovereign hearse. Not on the popular list, but it weighed more and had the most power of anything else in the parking lot. Ate a '85 camaro 305 for breakfast. Still own it today with 8.2+ liters and no regrets.

Class of 1997. I drove a 1986 Olds Cutlass Supreme that really was owned by a little old lady. It was definently an old man's car when I got it, but some chrome wheels and air shocks fixed that. Sold it to a friend of mine after graduation and he ran it into a telephone pole. Had a lot of fun in that car and it was a wonder I didn't kill myself, especially after the time I did 100+ in dense fog coming back from the strip club.

class of 2000, had a 1979 mecury cougar XR-7 with a 302. I had open headers and a weiand intake on it with a holley 650 double pumper. I thought I was sooo cool! LOL

  26. Class of '01. I drove a few cars in high school. I still have the most important 3.
    1968 Nova SS
    1965 Chevrolet Napco 4x4
and most importantly, my first car: 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS 327 power pack with a slip and slide.

Yes, I always had the coolest cars in the parking lot.
