Got my 68 mustang at 15 and still have it 18 years later. Doing a restoration for a couple of years now . Me and dad spent a lot of time working on the car in high school. Learned a lot from him. 302/ c4, 8 " axle w/4.11 gears. This car was a blast to drive in and out of school. Been down for a couple of years, but its time will come around again.

I had a 67 Chevelle but it was by far NOT the coolest car at school! Or even in my neighborhood!
There was a 67 Cougar,a 71 Camero Z, and a 68 Mustang all owned by kids in my school within 2 blocks!

I never owned a car until I got into college. But dad had several cars I got my hands on at night:

1961 Buick Electra convertible..blue w/white top. That was a beautiful one. Dad is 92 and still going strong. We both wish that car was still in the family.

Also had 64 Pontiac convertible...one big boat.

Also a Pontiac Tempest...like the one Arnie 'The Farmer' Beswick raced. We were on a frozen lake one day...I was going backwards quite fast...snow was fairly deep & I hit a frozen snowbank (part of a skating rink). Couple days later the trans nearly dropped out as car was driven into the dealership shop. Boys will be boys..

    1982 Pontiac T1000.

    I hope it was crushed.

Make that burned, then rolled off a cliff, then crushed... Twice..

At least I learned bodywork, paint, and how to constantly fix brakes..

I got this on the road my senior year. Bought it when I was 14 - summer of freshman year.

I'm going to share this retarded picture of me from the trip back to IL from PA after I bought the car...

I'm not HIGH give me a break, it was bright out and I was lookin into the sun, plus I was a freshman dork. I paid for the car with the cash I had rat holed since 1st grade.

In 1987, a 57 Belair 2 door hardtop. Straight drive, 283 power pack with Thrush glasspacks. Got the Coolest Car on Campus award at the end of the year. Restored it with my dad and drove it in my wedding exactly 10 years ago today but alas life got in the way and she had to go.Wish I still had the car instead.

Yeah, I know what it's worth now... don't remind me. Sold it to a local pair of brothers that had GTO's, for either 50 or 75 bucks, I forget which... the F.I. was being a PITA, and I was enlisting in the Air Force, (Draft lottery number was *TWO*) so it had to go.

1969 Chevelle Malibu. .030 over 350, 10.5:1, huge cam, M21 wide, 2.56:1 rear gears, 275-40ZR-17's from a 'Vette on all 4, discs, 3" off the ground, 1-3/8" bar in the front, 1-1/2" bar in the rear, crazy stiff springs.

It was sick. They call it Pro-Touring now. I guess I was ahead of my time. This was 1988. Speedometer needle disappeared over the top one day, never saw it again.

Graduated in '89, My weapon of choice was a 71 Nova (375-ish hp 350, Super T10 4 speed & 4.10 12 bolt), I had waaaaay too much fun in that car...

It would run 12.80's -13.10's depending on how I was handling the shifter that given night...

While I still have that Super T10 transmission (It is going into my Rambler next...), the car got sold in '99.

That is one car that I regret selling...

I bought a 55 Chevy Belair from my grandfather for $150.00 in 1971. I blew the stock235 on the way home (grandpa never drove over 30 mph and I drove it home on the highway at 70 and it let go. I eventually dropped in a 1967 396 and turbo 400 and she had a whole new attitude after that. Like, the fastest car in my high school, she was my pride and joy. I primed it grey so it was ugly but mean. What was really cool was a friend of mine had one same color and wheels but his only had the stock 265 in it. So....we would cruz for a race and tell the pigeon to meet us at a location we used to drag race at in about 20 minutes or so. Then, we would go get my car and show up with it and wax their punk asses. It was hilarious and we made a few bucks doing it. Most of the pigeons had showroom mustangs, GTXs, Roadrunner, Cameros and the like. The look on their girl freinds face was priceless as that ugly 55 of mine walked away from them to win. Ha the good old days.
