Full fender -32 Fordor, I'm going to paint it soon. I'm hot on the color of this one.. Anybody know What color or what car this is?
Seems to have that BRG hue, but I'm wondering if our eyes and brains are being tricked into thinking that because the wheels look like XKE knockoff wires. See if you can get a color sample of BRG and Rock Moss Green (standard Ford Model A/AA color) side by side and then figure if you want something in that range.
Just read an article in the Goodguys Gazette about the car and its builder the Hot Rod Garage in Sand Springs OK and it said it was painted Jaguar Racing Green using Sherman Williams products.
32's need to be painted black. Lighter and metallic colors make them look like something they are not.
Dave's car is drop dead gorgeous and the color is beautiful. I have seen it a few times and pictures don't do the color justice. HRP
The question of what color is it... is MOOT. You can't take a "picture" of a car...then match its color with printer's-ink. A downloaded "picture" will look substantially different than standing next to the real actual COLOR. The paint industry currently offers modern pigment chemistry. A "neat" bright RED from 20 years ago might look great in daytime...but look washed-out like tomato-soup red at dusk. The modern Red pigments will look good day or dusk. Paint stores will let you look at Generic paint chips (Dark greens for example) Then if you are curious you find out what cars the color you picked was offered on.
