    What clutch do you use adapting a 327 chevy to a 1940 ford transmission?

    A Chevy pressure plate and a Ford clutch of matching diameter.

    Hi Bob, 49 - 50 Mercury 10 inch Borg & Beck pressure plate with a 42-48 10 inch Ford disc.

    What 42merc said, I have that setup behind my 283 in a 41 pickup chassis. I had mine rebuilt at Fort Wayne Clutch.
