Well it was the last two days of working on. Trying to get my buddy's 62 together for a race this coming weekend.
His machinist got the stroked 409 built and ready for installation. So we set plans to get it together this weekend. Things went fairly smooth with only minor snags that just took a little extra effort to sort out. Did run into carburetor to distributor clearance problems ' I ran to my house with hopes that I had a distributor that would help but no luck so grabbed some carburetor spacers and now good to go.

 

Somebody turned off the summer switch here, and it's now cold and rainy here! So got a cloudy day Saturday, and decided it was time to put some of the summer cars away for winter, and treat the gas to keep it from going bad. Treated everything, (including the lawnmower and generator) then took the cars for one last drive before locking them away for the fall/winter.
Always a sad day, but hopefully we'll get a day here or there where I can take one of them out for a run!

Got the 9 inch mocked up in the falcon, moved it 1 inch back for clearance. Time to cut the quarters now.

I've recently come up with some 57 and 55 chevys that I'm working with as well as a 30 and 32 coupe that I hope to build as time allows. I have other projects as well that I may get to if I live to be 100.

Well ya know Alan, sometimes ya step outside of your box and try something different, and it bites you on the ass!! And cost you a small fortune, not to mention it makes you look like a damn fool my jobber gave me this clear to try, and I said sure thing. Well it sucked to say the least. Wouldn't buff for shit. So my brilliant ass figured the best course of action was to prep and shoot my normal clear over it, great idea right?? So I roll it outside in front of the shop one nice morning, and water sand it, roll it back in and tape it up, and shoot the clear to it. Looked great, problem solved. 2 days later it's got solvent pop all over it. I assume the first clear was still curing and off gassed through the second clear. So I shoved it aside and pretended it didn't happen!!! until the other day when I washed it, stepped back and threw up lol. Tried to sand on it, until I just got pissed and started stripping it. So yeah, 3 times basically. Now to cut and buff, and do everything else

Getting most of the little stuff finished and driving it now. Also swapped out the Torq Thrusts for stock wheel covers and wide whites.

 

@jimmy959 you bringing it out to Bob’s tonight? Got the five six standing at the ready. See you if you’re going. Like the new look much better.

 

Thanks Johnny, I'm liking that look a lot too. But when I get tired of that look, the Torq Thrusts are waiting patiently in the garage to be swapped back in. I might be out there tonight but the El Camino will be home with alternator issues. I'll be taking care of that tomorrow hopefully.

I will be very disappointed if I have to show up in one of the trucks. As you posted, I was on the phone with my guy who has the generator for the Nash asking me some questions! Hopefully he fixed that issue. Dummy me crossed the in & out on the fuel pump for the 64 GP, so that is fixed, but since the wiring harnesses are all new & I rewired the dash myself, there are a few issues that will only take time to fix!

Wet weekend, Repairing a 34 Ford Grille that's been hanging on my wall for awhile. Will polish it and prep for chrome plating, Chrome might be costly. ? ( it's the dirty 34 that I'm working on.

 

I am apparently having a shit car year, the freshened up 318 in the Barracuda ran for about two minutes before it decided to spit a rod through the oil pan….I’m thinking I must have missed torquing one….
