Bell midget wheel
Schroeder midget in my roadster........but it's not a model A!
(In a deuce)
I see a lot of later steering setups in most of the pics, what are you guys using on original Model A steering shafts/tubes?
Have you told her that the bigger the wheel the easier it is t turn?
Yes,if I put a smaller wheel on and she says anything about it turning too hard I can say I told you so!
Schroder 4 spoke sprint car wheel, Or a 40 Ford wheel.
Got a 63 Chrysler wheel in my roadster, good to have something different.
Got a banjo .
Use your best announcer voice...
And the award for most ugly steering wheel goes too..
2Blue2 and his "I scrubbed the years of rat piss off it and rattle canned it blue"
In the supporting role, a budget Speedway column bought used off of Craigslist.
Didn't have to pay for shipping, Score!
55 chev 15 inch replica
On the old racer, swap meet wooden rimmed wheel ,machined hub to suit the A column and the truck cap just finished the deal. Not to everyone’s taste but good for its purpose.
All A except the body.
12" Grant wheel with cardboard circles mocked up where the SW gauges will go.
Here's mine. Two spoke, 40 Ford replica.
Smaller repop 40 Ford. HRP
I use a John Deere 16" wheel from a combine, 18'' wheel usually on tractors. Looks 50's traditional. speedshifter Greg W
Seriously, that reminds me of a padded bra.
But, but do YOU like it?
I know it's big, but sometimes big is okay..... I used a '53 Ford column to incorporate a column shift. Younger hot rodders probably don't remember when converting to a column shift was the cool thing to do.
Mine doesn't have any right now but I'm working on it, I have a knee injury at the moment so not allowed in the garage and waiting for parts. I have the new column, couplings and several options for steering wheels.
I found a NASH banjo wheel, searched over a year for the correct center button, turned a taper in the hub and cut a keyway by HAND with a broach and a handmade guide. Fitted it to my Schroeder sprint box. I'm very pleased with the result.
I'm using the stock red/brown early '28 wheel.
Military wheel with a Chrysler center.
Have to keep the wife happy! She's claiming it's her car.
COOL , Ilike
LOL! Ok, that is different if it is hers.
Cast Banjo. Because I can’t find/afford a real one.
