What are these spindles?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by -, Sep 23, 2003.

  1. I got these spindles at an auction last week and am not sure what they are. I'm pretty sure they're Ford and was guessing early truck. Can I use the later brakes on them?
    Thanks Clark

Look like 32-34. I have seen hydraulic brakes adapted to them.

If they're Ford passenger, '32-34, easily adapted to late brakes. If truck, I have no idea about fitting other brakes. If you have a late drum with bearings, try sliding it on--it will go on if passenger, spindle will be way too big if truck. I'm at work so can't find you measurement for passenger spindle diameter. They may have a forged # with "B" or "40" if pass, "BB" if heavy truck. They look like regular '32 to me, and if so they need a cheap adapter kit that spaces out the inner bearing and centers the backing plate for late brakes.
