I went to my first LSRU this year, was hanging out with my friends, family and the Murpho's Rods and Customs crew. Not with my '41, though....bummer. What an amazing event. I've been to Texas a few times, but never an event of this caliber. So, being from So-Cal here's a few comparisons and eye openers I took back with me: Only $15 bux for a two day event? Grass everywhere in lieu of asphalt. Everyone is friendly, no mightier than thou attitudes. Most cars are driven in. No metal detectors (got to carry my knife). We walked in with 2 bottles of Moonshine and 6 beers in a very large purse the 2nd day right past the cops working the reentry gate. They smiled and said have fun, folks. Beer/food prices were half that of a So-Cal show. No outta control drunks starting fights, or making rude comments to women. The porta johns were still fairly clean even by the end of the 2nd day. Entertainment was bad ass, finally got to see Junior Brown live for less than it would cost one night in a club. I'm sure there are more I could come up with, but those stand out in my mind the most at the moment. If your originally from there, or just about anywhere else but here, you probably don't know how good you got it. Thank you for the hospitality Texas, I'll be back next year. In the meantime, I cant wait to get out of this cesspool. Looking to relocate to Colorado or possibly Texas in the not so distant future.
