I went to my first LSRU this year, was hanging out with my friends, family and the Murpho's Rods and Customs crew. Not with my '41, though....bummer.

What an amazing event. I've been to Texas a few times, but never an event of this caliber. So, being from So-Cal here's a few comparisons and eye openers I took back with me:

Only $15 bux for a two day event?
Grass everywhere in lieu of asphalt.
Everyone is friendly, no mightier than thou attitudes.
    Most cars are driven in.
No metal detectors (got to carry my knife).
We walked in with 2 bottles of Moonshine and 6 beers in a very large purse the 2nd day right past the cops working the reentry gate. They smiled and said have fun, folks.
Beer/food prices were half that of a So-Cal show.
No outta control drunks starting fights, or making rude comments to women.
The porta johns were still fairly clean even by the end of the 2nd day.
Entertainment was bad ass, finally got to see Junior Brown live for less than it would cost one night in a club.

I'm sure there are more I could come up with, but those stand out in my mind the most at the moment. If your originally from there, or just about anywhere else but here, you probably don't know how good you got it. Thank you for the hospitality Texas, I'll be back next year. In the meantime, I cant wait to get out of this cesspool. Looking to relocate to Colorado or possibly Texas in the not so distant future. 57028969_10219214707626308_2033393468188917760_n.jpg 57044193_10219214707826313_2168021507299606528_n.jpg 57088224_10219219512706432_6270101263690498048_n.jpg 57154267_10219236513651445_4539428927453528064_n.jpg 57160004_10219210021709163_3036797828258070528_n.jpg 57170661_10219227900996134_7297175055383920640_n.jpg 57244703_10219214707306300_1247573465595117568_n.jpg 57289381_10219210022469182_6502859616068567040_n.jpg 57289470_10219219513066441_694046459967832064_n.jpg 57311478_10219219512626430_6493042231362977792_n.jpg 57314218_10219243836034500_8934868672581730304_n.jpg 57350455_10219236513171433_1431899687979319296_n.jpg 57362582_10219236513891451_1121203080931573760_n.jpg 57402290_10219243836194504_4608135682496397312_n.jpg 57427430_10219236512971428_6396963147231526912_n.jpg 57471851_10219249348132299_7507935487215009792_n.jpg 58445078_10219236513411439_4397607088704978944_n.jpg

Glad you had a good time, West Coast. I cruise my Deuce highboy from San Antonio to Austin each year and actually think the LSRU is the best Texas has to offer. I do wish we had an El Mirage somewhere in the state. We've driven to yours 3 times in the roadster and were hoping to make the May event but it has been cancelled. Living in the south, we have had to turn our roadster into a puss wagon because of the extreme heat. The California boys chuckle when they see that Vintage Air unit hanging below the dash. Hope you can make the next one in Austin or the Bayou Roundup in Lafayette, LA in Oct. It is an offshoot of our run and is put on by the same guy, El Jefe, or Steve Wertheimer, who sponsors Austin. Those Cajuns are very hospitable hosts.

Johnny Wolf that is a rave review of our show. Thanks so much for coming all that way to our little playground.
