Me and the kido went to the local tractor pull today, had a real great time. Those farmers drove the hell out of them. My son tried the kids tractor pull, it was a long way from a full pull. I think it was a little over 2ft, but he had a blast. I was hoping to see some flatty powered ford tractors but there was none....

A few years ago I saw one with 4 hemis which was cool in itself, but i prefer the local boys tear up and break their stock tractors that they borrowed from their Dad.

some of these explosions remind you how nuts these guys are, sitting out in the open between the drive tires with a bomb in front of you. this reminds me of something........what was it.....OH YEA!!....drag racers used to do the same thing, back when it was exciting. cool videos.

    those are cool-lookin' tractors!
    didn't know they were turbo'd....

i wonder if they do tractor pulls around here....
i never hear about 'em, if they do :(

grew up in nebraska, seems like there was a pull every weekend someplace...

  12. Ah yes, we had tractor pulls and truck pulls last night at the Kenosha County Fair in Wilmot, WI.

    The best part, though....?

It all ended with two demolition derbies of six combines each. Yep, farm combines (harvesters)! This was the twentieth year of the spectacle. I LOVE Wisconsin!

My kids do a 4H 'Small Engine' class with a local farmer. He bought a Cockshut and put a Hemi in it! The hemi he bought in the 60's because he needed a carb and the guy would only sell the whole motor. $50. He bought 2. One sits in the shed needing a rebuild and he won't let me buy it! The Cockshut is evil! Pure evil. Zoomies!

    cockshut?

don't they have a drug for that now?

  17. Those farmers spend huge money on their pullers, and are as serious about pulling as John Force is about drag racing. Ak Miller had a turbo business, and sold Air Research turbos. He told me about a farmer who would call every couple of months and want 6 of the largest turbos made shipped to him. He was running a twin turboed John Deere diesel. Ak told him he ought to figgure out what was blowing up the turbos because he sure was spending a fortune on ,em. The old boy just said "the checks are good aren't they? I'm winnin', just keep sending the turbos"!

I'm going to a tractor pull in a few hours over in Coffeyville, KS. I especially like the smaller yard tractor ones with the motorcycle and snowmobile engines on em.

  19. Some guys are running sequential turbos, one turbo blows into another,
to get over 100 psi of boost.

  20. dont for get about combine jumping

Here are a few more pics...
There was one turbo tractor there and my son and I were standing next to the track and when it got about to us it back fired or something(it was LOUD). I turned around to check on my son and he was about 30 yards away and I had to chase him down.
