Well, I finally found something cool...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Stllrng., Sep 20, 2009.

  1. It is just a couple of hundred yards off a main road. The old guy who owns the property says it belongs to a friend of his and everything is for sale. The old guy seems to repeat himself a bit. I am going to try though as I think this has a lot of potential.

Fromt the condition of the wood I'd say that is one of the old reproduction Model A wood sets which was never finished, a project given up on many years ago.

BS, well, from the standpoint of, no, it has not been sitting out in a fencerow for decades. Okay. BUT, I sure wouldn't leave it there any longer, even if it just sat there since the spring of '09. Get it, if they don't stick you up for it!

You hit the nail on the head on that one.

  16. Well it's not staged and it's not bullshit either. I don't know how long it has been sitting outside but I would guess about a year or less. As for staging and bullshit games, well I don't have the time or desire for that stuff. Unfinished repro kit or not, I sure would like to get it and finish it myself. The wood seems to be in good shape and I would really like to finish it off and put in the '46 flathead that I have in my spare parts.

Sllrng, go for it, man. Who cares how long it's been outside? Better if it HAS only been outside a year or so, right?

Stllring,I am an OLD FART now myself, BUT I still say, just go GET 'er, bro!!! You'll love the end result. What a COOL car that could be!!

If you don't smebody else will.

When I got my driver's license in the late '60s, I search every junkyard in six counties and never found anything more than PIECES of Models A's. If you stillhave A's that complete out your way, just go with your gut . . . 'cause I'd kill to find one like that. What a cool body -- wood-kit or not.

    What's that behind the A?

  26. I didn't say how old I am....

  27. It looks like about a 1929 or1930 Studebaker . It has the cowl of a sedan with the back curve of an unidentified touring screwed on to make a sort of bucket. It also has a flatdeck added on to make it look like the beverly hillbillies.

My friend, I didn't assume your age. I was coattailing on SEVERAL older guys who were, like me, very much SUPPORTIVE of your project and congratulating you on your find. I guess I thought you picked up on that from the thread.

  29. I did pick up on that, sorry I should have put on an LOL or something! No foul at all! I hope I can get this thing I will keep you all posted
