Weld panhard bar bracket on dropped axle?

Looking to add a panhard bar to my A coupe. Currently have vega cross steer, superbell dropped axle. I thought I'd weld a bracket right to the back side of the axle rather than to the inside of the wishbone. However, my understanding is the superbell I beam dropped axle is cast, can I weld to that?

 

Call the SUper Bell axle company for advice on this. They will confirm whether the axle is cast or forged and what you can do.
