The Valley of Dry Bones

 

In 1955, Rod and Custom published a feature article by designer Joe Henning, who drewThe Roadster concept drawings and produced a plan to show R & C readership how to build The Roadster for "a dollar a pound".

Fifty-five years later, Dan Hostetter started construction on his own The Roadster and he finished it in time for this year's show. Joe Henning will bevisiting the show to see his The Roadster for the first time.

By the way, Joe also designed another famous car that actually got built in 1960... Ed Roth's Beatnik Bandit.

I am recovering from rotator cuff surgery and can't drive the roadster in on Saturday so I will be there bell to bell on Friday, riding s scooter instead. I refuse to miss the show !

They even offered the drawings for sale.
I allways wondered if any ever got built.
