Projects Weekend Score, what did you get?

  1.
  2. You guys know you can get anything you want at 'you know where'.

  3. I got a fun case of food poisoning thats about it

  4. I bought this hand-carved shift knob over the weekend and it's in shipping, on its way to me so all I have is this photo to show at the moment. It's not a Grabowsky, but then I didn't pay Grabowsky prices, either. I like the wormwood material and the fangs. (Don't let the photo size throw you. It's about 2" wide by 3" high. Perfect.)

WEEKEND SCORE, WHAT DID YOU GET?

    Hello,

In reading the interesting thread, it just calls out for this answer: "another day older and deeper in debt..." With all of those hot rods out there on the internet and on the HAMB classifieds, it is very tempting.

Sometimes, "out there," (parts included) just beckons to go out and spend...it is addicting. Now, if I could get the money manager to go along...maybe?

From 1955, constantly playing on our little AM radios and definitely on car radios... That deep sound and lyrics were easy to sing along with and remember.

Tennessee Ernie Ford: "16 tons" (main excerpt)

"Some people say a man is made out of mud
A poor man's made out of muscle and blood
Muscle and blood and skin and bones
    A mind that's a-weak and a back that's strong,

You load sixteen tons, what do you get
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store..."

I got that phone call at 8:55 on Saturday morning but I retired on the Second of January. It will screw up my back annual leave pay though. I'm still waiting on that to come and had planned to use some of it to go to GNRS.

I know I've seen that green die cast piece before, goes under a dash on a late 50's or early 60's car, mounts some switches (maybe headlight and cig lighter or wiper switch, one pod on either side of the column I think) but I can't quite place it.

Good score on the speaker covers, nothing uglies up an interior like modern speakers cut into kick panels or package trays. I got a very similar set this weekend, laying loose in a bus in a junkyard.

  17. I made an 800 mile round trip to pick up an old project. I started this in the nineties, got tired of it and sold it to my brother. He basically did nothing with it due to health issues. He recently sold his shop and had nowhere to store it. I'll keep it for now, didn't want to see it sit out in the weather. (subframe is narrowed by the way to fit the fenders)

I bought one of Eastwoods tubing flaring tools. They were at a show, giving demo's of it. Show special and no freight.

That toploader I saved will never be turned into parts. It turns out it's out of a K code 65 mustang fastback! Has the VIN stamped right on it.

I played with it there. Seemed like it will save a bunch of time if you are doing a complete car.
It was $10 off that price and no shipping. Maybe they might offer the same deal at Carlisle?

Probably. I grabbed the catalog at the Allentown show as I stopped by their booth to get tips for my plasma. I like all their stuff. I saw that on the cover and said damn. Looks nice.

  25. sunbeam...sorry, I was pulling the original poster's leg. I was there when 283 were last in the model year of 1961 Corvettes. I guess my comment was too cryptic....some got it though.
