I realize I don't have much to post here except that of the past. I have shared elsewhere and seen re-posted... 63-My dad's first car, he was in high school, uncle had to get rid of two and kept one. We still have the two and I have started a 40 pickup build.

Outside, in winter, before the tree hugging bunny lovers took partial control of our lives, I love it.:cool::cool::cool:

That "post Vietnam" shot is fully typical of 1972/73 as far as look and stance goes with the rear tires outside the fenders. That was how most of us rolled then.
Great photos, thanks for sharing part of the family history.

I have lots more pics, I don't think the current pics of both coupes fit the rules of this board.
    Old ones it is.
Dad and his friend Lee, we no longer have them with us. Not sure what happened to Lee's coupe but my brother has dads.

@FordyG is that the 2 remaining Coupes in this pic...Must be Nice...;)

You're correct that the Hamb Era is 65 and older so 70's while old are technically OT...unless of course it was built in a mid 60s or older style...but main thing is you have a few Vintage Machines to Build...Chrome Reverse with Bias fit the bill...are you thinking of bringing it back to your Dad's more vintage look?

Check out @Moriarity's 40 for some inspiration...

It's a stunner...there are many others here with equally nice period correct versions as well...that all said your primered version has the Street Warrier look going on...keep all the old pics coming...did he have any friends rides he captured on film

Yes I believe those are the two coupes we have still, they are both already back on the road in a non traditional build. Maybe I can get away with a couple front views where you can't see the wheels?

How dads looks today, still sports a 455 buick which replaced the flathead after Vietnam

Here is my uncles/cousins which actually has a modern Hemi in it.

Well the rides may be OT but there is still a wealth of Historic information and current and past builds to enjoy...and perhaps you might undo the current build style and step back to a Mid Sixties Vibe...It happens here on occasions...it's called un-streetrodding it.

So You Still Belong...just be aware of what floats around here and regarding that We All must be aware what we are posting...;)

I'm personally not going that route, mine will be more of a 70's vibe? Maybe something dad would have built then when he was drag racing, how I remember growing up with the coupe.

You can post if you feel it's on topic...I would not be the one to judge. You are correct there is a serious emphasis on 1965 and older. There are exceptions but mostly it's Old Hotrod/Custom/Race...

    Again have a look around...;)

Well hang around as I said there is much to be gained here. In actual fact I suspect a large number of the Membership have and enjoy OT vehicles but this place still has a Vintage Karma like no other...

Oh I am sure, it's all about the love of the culture for us all, we have many many more vehicles outside the three 40's. Glad some of you like the old pics and I guess some of our story, as I have told others, pictures are to be shared, I have spent many hours digitizing much of dads, otherwise they sit in a box in a basement and nobody sees them. I've been lurking around here for years, I am sure I have spoken to some members already outside of the HAMB.

You bet, he did get to see the start of my build and I know he was tickled pink, my brother and him worked on the rebuild of his car together, my brother is very talented and has some even nicer builds out winning awards.

While dad was aboard the U.S.S Vancouver in Da Nang Harbor his Fordy awaited his return.

His wallet picture I am sure he carried around for years and traveled with him to Vietnam and back.
