I don't think anyone else has posted this, but I found it on Ebay. The price doesn't unreasonable but no bidders so far.

Man, I've always liked that car. And I liked that version better than the repaint with all those curly scallops goin' everywhere.

But then I'm biased toward purple chevys... [IMG]

  4. That's a very fair price for that car. It'd cost that much just to do the body and paint. Hope a HAMB'er ponies up.

22 hours left and no bidders?!? When you look at the CRAP that they do bid on it sure makes you wonder where their heads are.

I'm about to bid. I need a daily driver, but if that thing goes for less than $15k I imagine itd be a pretty decent investment. Not sure how it is slipping through the cracks.... I wonder if I'm crazy enough to make it my daily...
Alarm, 350/350 combo, disk brake conversion. I drive 50 miles daily in rush hour traffic. That thing sure would be amazing to see daily on the freeway [IMG] Might be kind of a shame to put it through such torture.... Would have to park it outside [IMG]

I figured Daign was going to buy it, so I didn't bid. I was considering it. [IMG]

I would rank the original Grapevine up there in the top 5 custom cars of all time, both for looks and what it meant to the hobby.

I can't believe no one bought the clone at $13K. If you tried to find that grille alone, in that condition, you'd probably pay $1000.

  17. bidding has ended..?

The late Manuel Arteche, who built this car, died of cancer just a few years after he completed it (I think the car was done about 1997).

Manuel was a nice guy and a very skilled upholsterer; you might have seen his '41 Ford removeable hardtop before he did the Grapevine clone, or his '61 Buick HT that he did later. All three cars had really first-rate workmanship and style.

Too bad nobody stepped up. It was probably a very good buy.
