We bopped up to Watertown, SD for the Vintiques Rod Run, on Saturday. 9/8/12.

They have a great garage tour that required 7 (by my count) school buses to handle, and a super show-n-shine on Watertowns downtown Main Street. The weather was absolutely Chamber of Commerce perfect, and there were many great cars/trucks in attendance.

Here are some shots of cars/trucks that stood out to me...

Wish I could have made it- focusing on buying parts instead... It looks like there was a nice turnout and even some of the Suedes cars made the cut! I remember when Randy's car was in bare metal... what a sweet car! Very nice pics- thanks for sharing!

    Those pics are great!

    In picture #35 there's a Five-Eight Del Ray sitting beside a four-post lift.
Are those lights of some sort attached to the channel beside the runway?

They had a string of LED lights all around the runway, must've been too dark under there otherwise. If you have spent much time under a hoist, and had only overhead lighting, you fully understand the need for something like this. Good eye catching that.

Wow, the bare metal roadster...Niekamp, w/o the channel...with Flint style nerf bars...wow!

  27. Thanks for posting MCINK! Its almost like being there. I was trying.to make it back for the show but I can't make it back to South Dakota until next weekend. Darn!! :( As usual the Vintiques put on the best old time Rod Run in the whole Midwest and I recognize most of the cars belonging to my friends. Randy's shop is worth the whole trip to Watertown all by itself with the coolest projects going on there, and Randy's awesome collection of neat old stuff. His 3W turned out great and under the hood, the hemi is pure eye candy! Just wish I could have been there!

Thanks for posting. Like I said when I seen ya at the shop..."you made it now I dont have to post on HAMB". You got quality photos and taste. I hope you and the kid had a good time. The Vintiques do an absolute great job of hosting a show for the hotrodders. Its not about the money, the bling, or how big and popular it is. Its about quality. The downtown car show is a small part of the whole event and it shows. I have been at all 33 annaul Vintiques Rod Runs and I have seen it grow to what it has become and its amazing the great people that show up from all over for this event along with the locals it makes for an awsome weekend every year.
