This sounds like your best direction while you continue your search for the original glove box door. Re-creating that door shouldn't be a problem at all , although matching the patina might be a little challenging .

What a daunting search, kind of an adventure at the same time. If you do find it, what a great story to include in the car's history. You know, the world seems to get a little smaller all the time, you know someone who knows someone, etc... Good luck.

I would bet somebody on here knows where it is, and can't or won't say. It would be nice if you would at least be told where, and be able to use it to make a copy for your car!

 

I wish I could find it even to make a copy of it .To get the paint and patina matched up.

 

It's just a matter of time until whoever owns it now hears that you're looking for it. Nobody in their right mind would have altered it or trashed it, so most likely it's just collecting dust on somebody's shelf. Keep the faith. It will turn up. Karma.

Not too likely it's in my area but we'll watch for it. Like Missysdad said- keep the faith.
My Dad bought a teens era Pierce Arrow touring car that had been cut in half to make a truck during the 40s. 45 years later he found the back half of the same car at a farm a hundred miles away. They can be tracked down. And, that was pre-internet! It'll turn up.

 

Bob I sent Vern a pm a few months back and he told me he sold it at the LA Roadster show 2 or 3 years ago.He doesn't know the guy he sold it to.
