Wanted to find missing Von Dutch striped 51 Mercury glove box door/lid.

I just received my copy today and I just got done watcihng it.Verne did say in the dvd he heard about the glovebox door in San Diego. My merc was in storage there from the 60's until I got it about 5 years ago. Maybe just a coincidence.The striping & color is real similar. Maybe?I'm going to send a pic to Phil Sauer.

 

Update:Verne pm'ed me yesterday about the glovebox door.He got it about 9 or 10 years ago in San Diego.Unfourtanatley he sold 2 or 3 years ago at the LA Roadster show.

well...
i might suggest creating a sign to hang around you neck or wear on your back when you're at the GNRS, pomona swap, LARS, etc. make it conspicuous and obvious and make sure your phone number is nice and big.

Oh man! Almost so close..... Well, you got this close with the HAMB in a week or two, maybe another month or so it will found and back on the car. Oh well, half the fun is in the hunt.

That should be easy to do... Play it on the computer .., pause it and then screen shot it with .. Screen hunter, snipping tool or snag it.. Or a similar product .. Then you will have it nice and clear and be able to enlarge it.. John

DUDE, this is EPIC. ive heard of people looking for a specific car, but NEVER a specific part! and hell, you may have already found it! I am rooting for you big time on this one buddy cause man will it be a story if you can find it. its worth it though, I sure as hell would search like that for something done by the great dutch. good luck, ill be watching

 

For the time being, why not have a pinstriper recreate it? That is a good enough pic. And your dash will be complete until you find the origional.

I have a chrome one I''ll put in there for now.I also have one that isn't chromed that I probably will have it painted & striped to match.I just have to find a good striper & someone good at matching the paint that is on the dash.
