I have been looking at pictures of Rancheros and El Caminos. And being inspired by the artwork of Gary C and his 57 El Camino custom I started to wonder if more people have built custom pickups from wagons.

Does anyone have any pics or ideas on what would look cool?

The centre picture is of an Australian factory made Ford Mainline ute. Not a conversion from a wagon

    that 58 just looks rite

  18. Great Thread, just a lack of photos.... The best one that i've seen is a chicagoland 56 chevy, orange and white. Done with the factory wagon rear roof and window simalar to that killer 58 up above^^^^^.

I'm with ya 99%,but for them super ugly wheels:eek:

  20. I like the wheels on that '58. They fit into the whole concept very well.. Not normally a fan of 20's, but these work.

its not a wagon but it was a 50 wayfarer coupe i think, and my family turned it into a "yute",sorry but these are the best pics i have and its kinda hard to see,but if you look close you can see the box under all the stored whizzer parts.

I'm searching the Hamb and google now looking for pictures of station wagons that I think would make cool/strange sedan pickups.

Yeah, looks like a well executed job but I have to agree. The colour of the interior worries me a little too.

Saw this one in Texas. Owner told that his buddy build it at mid 60's from -61 New Yorker wagon. There is also used a another rear door to make a cabin back wall, with opening window. It's made from 8 person wagon and there is still the seat under the bed floor.
He didn't want to sell it :(

I'm a big fan of a pick up's, and it's truly a sorry thing that Chrysler corp never did a ute like Phord and Chivvy

    that fuckers cool!

  28. '55-'57 ranchwagon is the perfect candidate for a ranchero. Although you could by a '57 Ranchero.

The '58 that Choprods did was the tits. I even saw it close up and it was smooth as silk.
