volkswagens are flatties? must be very early VWs....all the VWs I've ever owned have a valve cover on each side to cover the rocker arms, that actuate the valves that are IN THE HEAD, not the block...ergo...NOT a flathead

DJ, I don't think Mr. Gasser is trying to punk you, because not all of Thee Inland Emperors are VW fanatics' just a few of the club members are.

Mr. Gasser you might want to check with Allison and Jade Idol to see if they know of any VW mills that are flatheads? If not I'm sure one of us can ask the Inland Emperor on the coast who's a VW fanatic. I'm sure he would know if VW ever made a flathead.
