Yes We are thinking of getting it together and taking it to Bonneville next year for a demonstration run :) Would be fun to see the history in the TRJ for sure :)

  10. All the auction prices are now posted @ RMAUCTIONS.COM.
The Edelbrock Special '29/'32 was a no sale at $210,000. This Sylvia roasater sold for $55.000. Pretty much the cost of the parts.

55,000 is a great price for such a classic...didn't the Chrisman coupe go for over $600,000?

Really look forward to a video with the Ardun running...they sound great just on alcohol, and they can take a big percent, but who wants to risk such a rare motor?

    GREAT SCORE!!!!

What a time machine, this baby gives me goose-bumps viewing its killer styling and timesless Von Dutch striping. Just doesn't get any better. Thanx for the detailed history and a super trip back to my hay-day era. ~sololobo~

We are thinking about taking it to Cackle fest in bakersfield. I am sure I will get it to a bay area show at some point.

I worked at Specialized Auto Parts from the early 70s until the company closed in the 90s. That wonderful roadster did NOT have the striping around the grille or the Von Dutch 55 signature at the time it was brought to the store at 301 Adams or when it left Texas from Trip's garage for California. Trip bought the car from Tommy in the early 70s just before I came to work there. After Trip's tragic death in the , his Dad kept the trophy from a record run the car made but I don't know what happened to it.
The signature on striping at the rear was "Jeffries", don't remember if it dated or not but we used to use it as the example of the old adage "A great striper doesn't sign his work any larger than can be covered by a dime.". I mentioned this the last time this car was mentioned and pictured here in a visit to wherever it was being displayed post.

I ended up with Doug Kings Race Ardun, so I am thinking of putting that engine in this car.
