History Von Dutch original, Paul Sylva's ARDUN T Modified Roadster

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Jimmy B, Aug 14, 2011.

  1. I usually don't care for Von Dutchs work but that design on the nose is the ultimate stripe design. Simple, Clean, and clever. Very nice. The car ain't bad either.:)

not only was Paul,s roadster a great example of the ultimate lakes racer, and the Von Dutch striping is what I recall. I,ve heard some critics of his style and form, but that was the kind of striping we saw and liked at the time.

Here's a couple more. I can't remember where I saved these from they were in my stash. It has the magnesium wheels now.

Very nice part of history. I only saw it one time when owned by Specialized auto in Houston. Glad to know it's still around.

Congratulations! I've been lightly watching the auction and must have missed it.

    Way to go, I'm jealous.

I thought the same thing... smoother and a tad more sophisticated than most of those "nobody knows how to paint flames yet flames" you see on early race cars. Gary

cool car! What is going on with the stick shift? is that positioned to make sure you don't get that track nose to close to anything, looks like you might get neutered in a front end crash!
