Here is my work in progress, 58 Volvo PV 444. Currently putting in the Chevy 4.3 v6 & 700R4. A lot of work to go but fun.

Mine is not strictly a custom, more like a rod :)
    It´s based on a 1958 Volvo 445.
445 and the later 210 are framebased cars.

    Hi
It´s the remains of a Fordor model A Briggs body.
Just had fun, putting it together, so I played around a bit :)
    Sometimes I tell a little tale and state that it´s a 1932 Holden:p

Give me this 4" lower, front discs and a B20 motor i'd be a happy boy. Love an A, love a very early chopped chevy coupe but these cars do it for me. May be the fact my dad had one from new and picked it up, straight off the production line when he was stationed out there in the RAF. Fat fendered, small enough for most UK garages and very little issues with registering it and being the better side of the law.

I know you asked about 444 and 544's but this Amazon always makes my pants tight. P1800's make bad ass customs too. But were risking a HAMB ban now

That brings up some fond memories.

Looks like "First Go"... Sweden's first drag race.

Classic Volvos are another side of my car life. You know, like Superman can find himself in a parallel universe. :D

Personally I prefer the 122 series as they drive so much better but unless they are modified/customized they are not really HAMB friendly.

Here is a Duett from Norway at the VROM meet in Sweden Aug 13th this year: (photo Sven Melin)

I have several pictures from this event but since some are not HAMB friendly I will just add a LINK if anyone is interested.

Not a US hit and maybe hamb unfriendly in some respects but year correct, fits the bill most other ways. As with the PV's, dropped on its arse, beauty rings, ww''s and a B20 and i'm in love.

I had a friend with one in High School. We undid the letters in the front and put em back so they read "OVLOV". Tried to pass it off as a henway.
    God we were dumb.

  17. My good friend at Gasoline Magazine, Peter Larsson, is a killer with Photoshop. From old Volvo commercial photos he came up with these versions and I know that he has been messing around with other makes as well, just take a look at Gasoline Magazine at Facebook.

Love the pics, I tried to start a new hot rod import thread like this and they deleted it. So I'll just carry on with yours! ;)

    Here's my 544!

Most of all build what you want, do what you want, it's your car. My uncle has always said, "If you like it, I love it." Meaning doesn't matter if he likes it or not, because it isn't his car.

Well since this has been bumped out of obscurity, I will add a few pics. If any of these belong to members, I would happily give credit. Oh and lets add more 122/Amazon photos as well. Because they don't need their own thread. I know some HAMBers have amazons, I wanna see them!
