Getting started re-wiring my 51 Plymouth to 12 volt negative ground. How do you go about making the stock 6 volt positive ground wiring motor work? Is there a easy motor to install that is 12 volt? The motor that is in the car now is single speed and work very good!! I'm going to re-wire the copmplete car to 12 volts.

    Thank You

You should be able to get a volt drop, and run it 6volt neg ground. Don't think the motor knows the differance.

If the motor is insulated from the rest of the frame, I think you could still get it to work via a relay that would provide the same positive ground wiring thru some sort of resistor. But you need some others to confirm that before you try it just on my suggestion. Does it have more than one speed? Gary
