Drag the tail and leave the visor on, side pipes optional. Drop the front, or f and r, and get rid of the visor and side pipes. The way it sits, no visor.Really good looking coupe!
Does the visor help keep the front down at speeds? I'd take it off along with the side pipes. But you would probably paint my coupe. So do it your way.
Lose the side pipes, leave the visor, put on some skirts and lower the rear. Full wheel covers (sombreros). If after that look is still off drop front and more in the back. Fat man Fab has 2 inch drop spindles. Do what makes you feel good!
Drop the visor and add some caps. If you were going to run it as a tail dragger/bomb then add the skirts, leave visor, drop the ass and add some caps...... Overall very nice car. Good luck and give us an update.
The side pipes and forward rake say "hot rod", the dummy spots and fat white walls say "kustom" and the visor says "old man's restoration". My opinion is to pick one look and stay with it.
One thing nobody's mentioned is the practical aspect of a visor. I bought my '51 Ford in '87, and it had a dealer installed visor (I have the original invoice for the car). I considered taking it off, but after driving my 6 miles to town into the sun with both this car and several different DD's (with tinted glass, by the way), I know why they installed them. Unless you don't drive your car during the day, taking it off would not be a good move, IMHO.
If, you remove the visor it may start to look like an AMC Pacer! Those coupes have tall ws, or you could chop it.
You asked...Back in the day, in the Midwest, visors were on your Grandparents cars....First thing removed. Centurion9
The visor reminds me of the rest-o-rod era and I'm more than happy that phase of rodding is all but faded out. It would be on Ebay or hanging on the wall if it were mine. The fact remains, it's your car, do what pleases you. Frank
Drop the rear, get some nice hubcaps, ditch the visor, and get rid of the side pipes. or AT LEAST get rid of the little flame things on the pipes........ Either way, these cars look best at a level stance, leaning forward it fights with the flow of the car.
However, to play devils advocate.... There were some customs that ran visors in the 50s... Well, at least this one.
Take it off and sell it to me! Would look great on my 48! I think it looks great Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
