Has any one here fixed up an old tow truck? My dad has a towing bussiness so I was playing around with the idea of putting a wrecker bed on my truck. Here is the wrecker we have, but I think I would just use the crane part on my 46 international.
I am building a 68 F100 short bed with a Canfeild boom in the bed, not HAMB friendly, but still kool....
how about updating this one/ It would look really good and keep the patina.I don't mean build a R** Rod either.
This one was kinda kool. From the 2008 Rhinebeck Show. My friend and neighbor has a stock mid 30's Chevy wrecker but I don't have a picture at home .I'll put that on the long todo list.
There's another thread on here somewhere that shows alot of old tow trucks. BTW, I'd just fix that one up. It looks pretty mean.
I don't like the Big trucks. If you don't use the big tires the wheel openings in the fenders are too big.
Yes find the other thread. There are a lot of nice pics. Because that boom is fixed height, not sure how it would look on a small truck. good luck.
This is a '54 International, that belongs to Jr. haynes, and has served Wetumka Al. since it was new. He still uses it when the new junk cant get the job done!
