Vintage Torque Fest Helmets

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by OLIVER BROS GARAGE, May 7, 2010.

  1. Lets get a thread showing all the helmets from Vintage Torque Fest 2010. There was some awesome pieces of art there that I think everyone would want to see. Also maybe this could even help for in the future when they will be auction off to help Hannah heart. www.HelpingHannahsHeart.org

I will be the 1st here to post the pics of the helmets that we help to give towards the proceeds.
    ---------------------------------------------------------
This 1 was done in pink with lace scallops and a backpack to carry it in with embroidering done on both sides. The bag was done by Little car and the stripping was done by Ollie her husband (my brother). The painting was completed by Fine29.

The green helmet was painted by Super Dave (not on here) and the studs installed by Cato Customs in Des Moines here.

What kind of helmets are those? Are they metal, plastic, Spanish?

  5. Helmets are resin made by Jimmy Flintstone for John.

  6. Are blank helmet's for sale? I need to paint one up.

Ryan has agreed to let us auction off the helmets here on the HAMB

    So stay tuned!

We will start doing this after this weekend.

I think we will start them on a Monday and end them on a Monday

Each week we will ahve a different artist profiled - so this way we can all get to "know" the artist that took the time and energy to contribute to the art show.

SO all the artists out there that actually took the time to help out - THANK YOU

I think the final result was really amazing and I hope to be able to expand this even further next year.

A special thanks to Jimmy Flinstone for contributing the helmets to the artists.

We do have these for sale and the HAMB discount is 10% off the normal retail.

The helmets sell for $40 at the shows - if you wish to pick one up at a local show - I will hav ethem there.

If not you can order direct from me.

Shipping is $8 via priority mail.

These helmets are a direct copy of a German M40 WWII Helmet.

These are resin and once you wash them with denatured alchohol you can apply any type of paint.....
    airbrush, acrylic, enamel, one shot.......whatever.

You can see the different types of art that was applied this time and I am sure we will get even more artists to apply some of their genius next time.

Thanks for supporting the cause and I hope people enjoy the art as much as I did.

Seeing these things in person is the real treat.

Artists - please email me your info and we can get started on your profiles/art retrospective/bio

Then the auctions can get started.

    THANKS

Heres mine, I did it all in pencil and ink since I have no talent in painting yet. The portrait of Hannah was the hardest part, everyone at the show loved it! The inside is all the sponsors for the show.

  28. I thought that the whole point of these helmets was to get them all done up and sold so all the money that was raised would help pay for Hannahs bills?
