Is that your junk Verno? See you there.... Sorry I slept thru your breakfast but was up last nite late working on the '51. Close but not near road worthy. Rain or shine rodders make the trip to Dubuque today or tomorrow. You'll never miss it again!
Well, the weather radar map looks like crap. Pretty good sized cell coming out of Kansas and Oklahoma, headed straight for DBQ.
Here are two pic's of my favorite HOT ROD at Torquefest on Friday.
That roadster is super nice. There were a lot of great cars at Torque Fest today.
...donated 2 woodart boards to the benefit auction, but had to leave early today,...if anyone watches them sell, let me know what they bring, thanks.
(update: the gasser board brought $400, the other $150,...thanks to all who bid, it goes to a great cause.)
...here's a few pics from yesterday...
I had a great time at Vintage Torque Fest. I was initially planning to go Saturday with a large caravan of cars. Mother Nature however had other plans.....in the form of rain. Luckily it is a Friday and Saturday show so we went Friday. There was no rain Friday and the sun came out in the afternoon. As usual the show was great. Outstanding cars and lots of great people. Bumped into HAMBers Titus, Bob K (of course), Marcy, and BobWop.
I did not take a lot of photos as i just had my smart phone. I will share what I have...
The drive was awesome and a lot of fun. My car ran great on the long haul! Crossing the bridge to Iowa with the Mighty Mississippi River below.
We sat in the staging lane for some time before the gates opened.
Lots of great hot rods, customs and bikes in attendance.
Because Model A's are rad!
Let's not forget about the vintage race cars in attendance. This flattie sounded awesome!
It was a great time. I was able to purchase several Hop Up Magazines and some art from Max Grundy. The swap meet was great too.
Had a good turnout today considering the weather. I pulled in about 8, and had a few hours before the rain really picked up. Didn't see any auction results, had to leave early.
I got there today in time for the rain. So, yeah, the weather kinda sucked, but I had a good time anyway. Saw some cool cars, neat stuff. Stayed through the start of the auction, then headed home.

Feel free to use any of the photos I posted if you're interested.
I got there Saturday around noon. a lot of cars considering. just after I put the car in park this 53 parked next to me. quite a few of the buicks there this year. out front was a sweet maroon 2 tone. should have snapped a pic
Pic on the way there Friday.
Great show and great people. Even the rain could not stop the fun.
All in all it was a good time, even with the 8 hour bike ride home in the rain. Deke put on an amazing show and I really enjoyed Slim Cessna. Only thing I noticed that was affected by the rain was the swap meet.
Thanks Travis for the cool picture.
here is another one from Travis. one of my favorite rodders. Charlie's shoe. recently painted.
