A buddy of mine found this in the desert yesterday. It looks GM to me, but can anyone identify it?

It is a 33 or 34 chevy, I'd get a shovel and dig it out.

We're trying to determine who owns the land as it is right off the interstate in an arroyo with miles and miles in every direction.

Apparently the NRA had one of it's conventions at this location sometime in the past.

Man! Could you imagine digging that thing up and doing a build thread on it?

It would be the most followed thread ever! What a story behind the car.

Every hot rodder around would know that car...

    Keep us posted.

PLUS! There's another type of body behind it in the bushes on the first pic.

    I'd love to have it.
I'm amazed that someone hasn't already dug it out of there. From the looks of the front fenders, it looks as though the frame might be under it?

What's the sedan behind it in the first picture?

Being the former owner and restorer of a 1933 Chevy Master, but far from an expert, I'd say by the belt line and dash it's a 1933 Master.
By digging out below the front fenders enough to see if the raised lip is correct around the front the world will know.
This body still seems salvageable from what shows. I'll bet it was a decent car when parked.

The other car seems to be about the same except a sedan. Plus something else is behind the other body. Might be a whole flock of em around there!

  12. Well, it looks like they either don't know its there or they don't care and don't want it, so good luck.

The other car looks to be a similar vintage 4 door sedan. The front doors are there, but the rear doors are missing.

I'm guessing it's a '34-35 Chev Standard....same as the one I drive every day...only difference between the years is that the '34 had a removeable gas tank cover, '35 it was a part of the body.

it's a '34 or '35 standard, '33 has a shorter hood so the cowl shows more with the hood on.

Even if you don't take it, at least check the front fender lips and below the rear trunk area. Inquiring scavengers want to know! See if it will crank over. Maybe you can drive it out.;)

No one even mentioned the nice patina!

I almost injured myself falling on the floor laughing....that's some funny shit!

  22. 33 cowl vents opened forward so i will agree with 34-35.

  23. i am curious, how does a car get buried like that? was it parked in a hole? or did the wind blow the sand from under it and cause it to sink? flood?

Cool find. I really like the dash in those. I have one in my model A coupe. Fits great. Now get out the shovels and start digging.

The coupe is 34-35 with the longer hood shelf. The sedan has what looks to have the shorter 33 hood shelf, I'd call the sedan a 33. I had both a 34 and a 35.

When I was young, Me and a buddy found a nice "34 Ford Vicky in a dry Beaver Dam, dug it out, (took forever) put it in the back of my "72 Chev 1/2 ton, started down the trail. A man with a rifle said, "Now, put that back, where I watched you take it from" I said, is it yers or the beavers? He said,"put it back" I said you know how to use that rifle? He said Yep, "I said then shoot me in the back, cause I am not turning around. Drove off, had for a few years.. Shudder when I recall it..

  28. Both are the same year. They are not 33's as the cowl vent opens towards the windshield. Either 34 or 35 had the cowl vent open towards the windshield. I can't remember which it is.

'34 cowl vent opens toward windshield. The sedan is a '35 because it doesn't have a gas tank apron.

  30. But the cowl vent on that one opens towards the windshield too.
