Is Marvin Jenkins still alive? He drove the Novi that Frank Kurtis enclosed to Class D records at Bonneville.
Speaking of which, does anyone have any photos of this car?

The #1 looks like the car Dickson usually drove. Besides its a 4- bar.

    That`s true Spike-Pancho drove a springer.

What is odd is in 74 at Reading I have Rollie Beale in the Kilman #1 and no mention of Dickson at any of the 3 reading USAC races.

  11. Man!!! Don't be so generous with the resolution of the shots!

I didn't realise you were posting them that large.

I resize all mine stuff for the web to 600x400 at 150DPI. Big enough to look at and get most of the details. Any higher-rez and people can pay for it.

    Just my $0.02.

In 1974, Dickson went independent ("outlaw") and ran Ernie Ensign's #37 in IMCA and ASA events, winning the "Little 500". He only returned to USAC in August (Missouri State Fair).

    Thank Michael,

    I never knew that.

Maybe the photos of the black #1 aren`t from the same year as RABs other photos from his latest group?

By 1975 Dickson was in the Ensign #80 in USAC.

The 1 is definitely Stapp's car and I think that is Pancho in it - I don't think he drove that one much.

I think that this is the car that Butch Wilkerson and Jim McQueen ended up with.

  22. Hey, I'm not complaining, but I'm sure that's why someone poached your pics, because they're probably a high enough resolution to print out.

The big pics are great, but you WILL get people 'stealing' them.

Steve is still alive and kicking in Brownsburg, Indiana. And still racing.

I'm not sure how to contact him, however.

.....'Spike, 'Just in case you haven't got your answer yet, that's Fred Linder in the Vittee #68. And further Spike, when USAC came back to Reading the very next month, Fred won the race. I hate to see our bud, Buildy having to shoulder all the load of identifying everyone so, I'll fill in this time. Post #9942-- 'Top row, (L to R) Billy Cassella, Seymour #6, Chuck Gurney, Wergland #36---- Dave Gable, Polak #72 Second row, (L to R) Gary Bettenhausen, Junior Knepper's #55---- Thad Dosher, Bobby Hillin's Longhorn #48---- and Linder in Vittee's #68

Post #9924-- 'Top Row, (L to R) All three are Pancho in the Conger & Stapp #1
Second Row, (L to R) Bruce Walkup, Ben Leyba's #4---- Lee Osborne,
Stouffer #81 and Little Joe Saldana, Maury Amerling's #16
Greg Leffler, Linsmeyer #19 Bill Puterbaugh, McNamara #73
    and Fred Linder, Vittee #68
Third Row ---- Dana Carter in the Willie Davis #24

.....'Incidentally Midget-Racer, It was either here or over on TrackForum that someone mentioned that they got ahold of Steve Stapp to see if he could offer any type of input or advice on one of his masterpieces and Steve pretty much wouldn't give the poor guy the time of day!

'Tony, Reading, March 1975. Larry Dickson won the race.
