In my opinion even though he never won the 500 Ted horn has to rank right up there. I mean it is tough to beat 8 top four finishes in a row. If you have ever read his book he never really ran full bore at the Speedway. Just imagine if he did, ahh the possibilities?!?

Luijie Lesovsky built the body on that car, and get this it was Mag. I heard a rumour that a guy up in the Fairmount Indiana area has it. I gotta find out, I want it if it's there.

The dial on my time machine would be set for 1927-28 to watch Leon Duray in his Miller 91.....

    Hey Roy,

That quarter midget stuff is cool! I love those old vintage Q-midgets. I wanted one as a kid,but we had go-karts and mini bikes instead. My cousin Albert had a black quarter midget with gold leaf lettering-I was jealous-LOL.

Hell yeah! I don't mind the Quarter midget stuff at all.. Its all open wheel. On the first page, first post I made sure to post a shot of everything from 20's sprinters to midgets to quarters to set the pace wide open for any openwheel "sprint" style stuff... Thanks guys, I never dreamed this post would ride this long..

Here is my Nephew GAGE in our quarter midget. (although, I think I already posted them on here..)He runs it hard! Its unrestored and original.. Dad and I hate the color but its the real thing.(in real life its almost pink.. like pepto bismo) The dragons are kinda goofy but I'm sure in 56' they were as mean and menacing as any kid had seen.. Check out the Registered USAC water decal..

I had to got to the Performance Hot rod industry trade show in Indy today.. It was pretty good. Got a new Coker catalog, and saw that the new Indy firestones are in it, with the right sizes.. BUT NO PRICE:cool:

Here is a dirt tire reference for ya'll for this years catalog..

***Notice the double diamond rears are availible in 15",17" and 19"***
They never came that way, but its cool that there doing that for hot rods...

Funny you bring this up, found this the other day on e-bay (#160212952711) and got to thinking, that with the availability of these new tires, it could be the makings of a nice little repop Indy roadster. Take a sawsall to the cage, some tubing for front T-bars, a nose from mac-miller..... hmmmmmm. Now if it were just 2000 mi. closer and I was $8000 richer :(

Josh, I went to the breakfast this morning thought I would run into you today somewhere. I am getting ready to go to work now on about 3 hrs sleep. I sat at a table right next to Alex, Pete, Vic, etc. Dunno how the heck I ended up at a front table. I have to show you what Alex signed for me and the conversation we had. What a cool guy he is!!

Gene Lee Gibson was the driver of the Flinstone Flyer series of Super Modifieds at Oswego and elsewhere. Some of those Supers were ex Indy Roadsters.....
