JJones, looks like Tommy to me too, in his blue #3.

On the beal/traylor car... Ken Hickey owned it between Traylor and Stearly. (1959)

All I know is that it is a Ford powered sprinter driven by Benton Burns, a super modified driver out of Phoenix, who was in his first start in a sprinter. Maybe our AZ. friends can add more.

Some of you may be interested in my report from the Williams Grove oldtimers at Latimore Valley.

There are some roll cages and a few stockers, but there is some real good stuff, too.

I am writing a thumbnail sketch of midget racing by using cars at the show as examples.
I am writing this in a general fashion, off the cuff,so if I have erred, correction is welcome.

    http://www.williamsgrove.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=26432

This report is a work in progress that I will be adding to.

Anybody know where you can get one of those cool facemasks all the guns wore at Ascot back in the open-face helmet days? (see Hogle in the shots at El Centro & Ascot). Who made them back then? I think they snap onto the rim of the A-O goggles.

  21. I have this one from the 60's that was made by Tony Nancy from English glove leather. I wore it in the slingshot and later on the dirt ovals (not the smartest thing I ever did....it had glass lenses). :D

Hi it is Ron from Australia,

Sorry guys it is not a 1969 or older but I have just purchased a 1977 ex Larry Rice (R.I.P.) LTC Midget with Scat engine that Larry bought and ran in the U.S. before taking to NZ where he won the World Derby.

I do have some history coming but I would appreciate any information you can help me with. I am keen to replicate his race suit and helmet for display purposes. The livery of the car as run by Larry is as per the photo.

I remember seeing Larry drive when he first paid a visit to Australia, absolutely sensational and a good bloke that made many friends here.

    Cheers

With his new #1 paint job barely dry, Roger McCluskey takes this scary flip at Reading early 1964. His broken arm sidelined him most of the rest of the season keeping him from defending.

Apologies for this being later than 1969, just looking for some assistance.
Received this email today from a guy who saw my picture (below). He is a friend of the driver, Malcolm Lovelace, and is looking to find the car. Thought I would post the picture to see if anyone knows it's whereabouts, if it still exists. Any help is appreciated. I will post more history as I learn it, previous owners, etc...
Contact me at [email protected] or [email protected]

    Thanks,
    David.

    (email I received):
I seen the pictures of Malcolm Lovelaces roadster and told him about it and he asked me to try and track the car down.So if you have any information on the where abouts of the car it would be great.. Thank You: Curt
