Yep!,---------Rode my bike to watch the move from Howard Hughes plant down in Sepulveda gulch to head to San Pedro. They had crews holding up the power lines ahead of the tall tail on the goose. Later Dad & I went to watch Hughes fly the goose 15 ft. above the water, then set it down proving to the Gov't. that would indeed fly. Hughes used his own funds to build the goose, then he was reimbursed.
it is weird, but my wife informed me that the "attack bra" was all a woman could get in those days!

Going by his avatar I think he knows
Edsel's 1934 Speedster. Here is some info.
When I visited the Edsel & Eleanor Ford house last year they told the story that Edsel kept the Speedster in the tunnel below the house so that he did not disturb the staff in the garage at the front when he wanted to leave early to go to work. The garage had several cars with a turntable but he preferred to leave via the tunnel when he was driving to work.
He quite often used to go by speedboat as well since the roads back then were rather primitive out to Grosse Point.
Maybe, but does he know how to spell Garlits?
I used to see it cruising around Pomona in the early 70's..... Hard name to forget.
