    Is there any information on this first shot? Looks like one heck of a crowd.

    The second shot shows Joe James in the Bob Estes Mercury Ardun OHV conversion that ran at Indianapolis in 1950. The car missed the race but was 2nd Alternate in what was a true hot rod effort.

    Must've been near the end at Lion's. Older gasser was taking the look of the Mustang styles of the lowered noses.

    a local dealer lost his license for selling an auburn repro ('glass body, late ford running gear) for around 100 grand. at the time, it was worth maybe 25 k; he told reporters, "the buyer had the money and wanted the car!"
