    Even back in the day there was someone who wanted to put Mattel type wheels on their hot rods.

  4. The car is a Chandler. A distinctive feature of the Chandler is that rear window in the top was the same shape as the radiator badge. Behind it is a Buick. Both cars probably new in 1920 (date on the plate).

    IIRC, it was for rural mail delivery in some deeply rutted and muddy roads. There is a discussion of it somewhere in the back pages.

    I'd be willing to bet that within the 1st half mile of this road trip Dad reached over and expressively flipped the electric window lock out switch....lol
