    This looks like Cholame, CA. They used to have (maybe still do) a James Dean memorial run out there every year on the anniversary of his death. This is about a mile away from that fateful intersection.

    These small cars were built in Wichita by McKenzie Body Works as a side line business back in the 30s.

  9. Photo extracted from post #187039 on p 6235. A car with American influenced styling but it is a German Horch, probably around 1930-31. They did a range of straight eight models with engines from 3.8 to 4.4 litres. No ball of fire going by the speeds quoted on the wiki page. Hamb p 6235.jpg
