PISSES me off that racism was once so prevalent that it was painted on the side of cabs without shame. Yeah, I know it happened. It still does...they just don't paint a sign on it anymore.

Oh No ! I just think I met my doppelgänger !! I too had a 1950 Nash Rambler in high school, except mine was a convertible... probably ugliest convertible ever made! I'm convinced that it was my dad's idea to prolong my virginity as long as possible. There wasn't a single girl in my high schoolwho would ride with me, even Mary Jane rotten crotch with her pretty pink panties, (who gained infamy in the movie Full Metal Jacket) wouldn't come near it!), nor would any father in his right mind to protect his daughter. For that reason, just like avoiding a basket of pit vipers, I nicknamed it, "Snake". When you put the top down the side rails remain stationary, exactly like opening up a sardine can. The Nash engineers didn't I understand the Bernoulli effect, at exactly 22 miles an hour everything that wasn't nailed or taped down was sucked out of the car!

Snake was originally red, but more than 10 years of open weather changed it to a dull pink. Snake's outstanding feature was the blown head gasket that was permanently welded to the block. Three miles or three or stop lights, the exhaust gases would cause the radiator to blow up from pressure, and every day I would pull into the high school parking lot in a cloud of steam. When School let out at 3 o'clock, out came the propane torch to re-solder the radiator back again so I could pull into my driveway in a cloud of steam again! Pretty cool planning on my dad's part, not only did I maintain my virginity throughout my junior year in high school, it was a pretty sure bet that I wouldn't go cruising with my buddies either. 3. I didn't even notice what was on the doors. My apologies.

  6. Duro Metal Products of Chicago used this rig mounted on a 1936 Ford truck chassis as a traveling showroom. The custom-built integral display van was inspired by the new streamlined passenger trains placed in service by the Union Pacific Railroad in 1934.
