    Yes, and it has been shown and explained several times in this thread along with some other '59 GM styling exercises including the one with the center rear fin.

    No, the car in which he was killed was a '52 Cadillac. This is a '48-9.

    Rootie, is there any background information on this supermodified? It looks like it might have originally been an Indy roadster.

    It's pretty much a mystery to me. All I know is that it was raced by Jim Edwards out of Wash. state in the mid 60s and I have to believe it was a Champ car at one time too. The wheel base looks Champ car size and it appears to have the starter hole in the nose. Being a right side offset really narrows it down but I have yet to find a pic of a roadster from that period that matches the nose/bodywork, torsion bars etc. so...……..?
