Rootie, this is a very interesting car but I haven't got a clue as where the photo was taken or the driver. Do you have any additional information on it?
I don't know any more about the car but it's obviously a Ardun conversion and the pic was taken at Oakland Stadium. The driver is Lemoine Frey who was a pretty successful roadster/ big car driver on the west coast in the late 40s early 50s.
Does ANYBODY have some pictures of JEFFRIES 48 Merc Convert ?

Thanks for posting. I remember seeing this car racing in the 1968 Permatex 300 with Bill Wimble driving - nearing the end of his driving career, I think. I still have the race program and probably the NSSN listing the results.......somewhere (??) around here.
