I though so, too. I had no idea that Bud and Hepburn went back that far with each other. Now I wonder when they actually did work together for the first time.
No running board, and the doorsill is well above her knee, as it appears. Couldn't have been easy for her.
My guess is her left leg is on a step plate.

Hard to say, but they both came up through the Legion Ascot/west coast racing scene of the 20s/30s. If they didn't work together I've got to believe they were well aquainted with each other, it was a pretty tight fraternity back then.
