The signwriting seems to say "Grant Rambler Special", and those header pipe ends look like it could be a V8. So Barney Navarro was not the only one to race AM engine cars? Anything known?

Don't know any particulars about the car but it was driven by Oregon driver Dewey Wilcox in the PNW.

It's a former hearse without a doubt. European coach builders preferred using US vehicles at the time.
Here is a four door version. It appears very similar to the two door Imperial.

 

Looks like Paul Goldsmith at a tire test; probably in 1963 and probably during Practice in May. Judging by the lettering on the tires this was likely one of Goodyear's very first Indianapolis race tire tests. Paul's business partner and friend Ray Nichels was his mechanic in both NASCAR and at Indy and both worked a lot with Goodyear in stock cars. It took Goodyear a couple of more years to be really ready for Indy but when they were their tires were hard to beat.
