Norris Dam in East Tennessee constructed in 1936
High school buddy of mine drove one of these, "gift" from his dad, a 4-door done in gaudy gold by Earl Scheib for $39.95. It was butt ugly, with absolutely no cool factor. He heated it, and figured if he could destroy the transmission, his dad would replace the car hopefully with something less ugly. No matter what he did, that Torqueflite just kept on ticking: punch drive or reverse with the engine revved up, hit reverse while going forward, etc. All he managed to do was break motor mounts.
OH crap brake fluid in the eyes.
Scheiße in German is "shit".
