I have so many ?s...I assume the GM section of the motorama...'55?...since Pontiac and Cadillac are there also. The Belair never came that gold color? And the interior looks unusual. That gold really does look good though.

I love the shape of the M6's with their round shaped sills/gas tanks
The people standing beside this gives a perspective on how small these missiles were.

    Any guesses what this is?

The Jack Adams Aircraft special out of the Memphis area. The car ran at Indy in 1969 and was turbine powered.

They later switched to a more conventional rear engine chassis for the pavement shows and had a champ dirt car to go with it. Both cars being turbine powered.

Here's a little (real little) more of the story. Towards the bottom of the page.

This photo is appropriate to your post. [RIP]
    MARK DONOHUE.jpg

Donahue and McLaren weren't great innovators ,but they had access to some of the best connections and brains in the business.
Donahue and McLaren were the best at testing, and testing, and testing [either to find improvements or the weakest link]
Testing was the demise of both of them!! [RIP]
Put Donahue in a McLaren was a good pairing, The problem was Donahue raced against Team McLaren
