Makes me want a steak at the Ringside, two blocks from here.
Those are "used" cars going to auction.
The Dallas Love Field terminal is still there although it has been built over quite a bit. It doesn't look like that any longer.
Everyone keeps posting the photo of the giant Santa holding the '54 Chevy in Dallas back in Christmas of '53. Well, here's the story: (The newsreel enclosed in the article is pretty graphic, but that is how they used to present news back in the day.) BTW... Porter Chevrolet was directly across the street from the giant art deco Dr. Pepper plant on Mockingbird Lane in Dallas. The area looked pretty much the same until maybe 20 years ago. Some of the buildings on the side of the street near where the dealership was still exist. The restaurant Campisi's Egyptian Lounge is still there. BTW... when he died Raymond Beadle was married to Rosalyn Campisi who ran the restaurant after her famous father died. It was a supposed mob run joint and Jack Ruby ate there the night before he shot Lee Harvey Oswald.
I know,It was a joke,sorry.
I heard that the cop was Tom's brother in law, & they staged the whole shoot. Here's another pix at roadster roundup back in the 1970's of Tom & Deanna. That Mosher motor was so loud, I used to tease Tom when we went thru a tunnel, it sounded like a cement mixer!
Hang on to that line Santa!----------Somebody's getting a ladder!
Santa Claus arrival at Keldor store, Cap de la Madeleine, Québec.......
Nope. It's Strother Martin. "What we have here is a failure to communicate" actor.
It says New Brunswick, New Jersey on the VW bus.
Hey Fellas; I just saw a thread here (somewhere) with a picture of Ed Iskenderian signing an autograph at a recent event (at age 97). I can't seem to locate it and want to send it to a good friend who worked for Ed as a kid doing "Gopher", parts-chaser work in 1959 or 1960 while attending the Art Center in Pasadena. He would enjoy seeing that picture. Thanks much if you can point me to that picture!
