  6. Cutler City (Lincoln City), OR -1930s

George and Mary Cutler purchased a large parcel of land from Charlie Depoe (Depoe Bay’s namesake), a Native American allotment holder, in 1904. They platted the town-site and built a cabin in 1913. They moved away shortly afterwards, but their son, Arthur, was instrumental in Cutler City’s early development. The town officially became Cutler City in 1930.

That's Craig himself. Hard to believe I've known him and the family for 40 years now and another reason why I'm into this hobby.

I still live a few miles from where that picture was taken but I just googled it for you, couldn't get the height of the original though. Interesting that the corner house on the left still has their walkway from the sidewalk in the same spot. House next to it still looks the same but now sports spanish tile roof. Lots of the neighborhoods had their original trees on the parkway removed 10 years or so ago because the roots were tearing up the sidewalks, that's the reason for the smaller trees now. At one time Lakewood was called Tree City USA, before that it was called "Tomorrow's City Today.' (see last pic with Dodge Seneca cop car) That picture was taken on the corner of Lakewood Blvd and Ashworth, the later was the street I grew up on, whoever shot it was standing in Bellflower to take it. I was only 4 or 5 at the time so I was not one of the kids climbing the wall that surrounds the neighborhood pool.

I sure would like to see other angles of this much modified 1955 custom. It is intriguing.

Did some research on Australian Hot Rod history and may have pinned this one down. Darrol Finger's 34 Coupe.
Here is the link to a detailed history. I thought from the original posters picture it had a Dodge engine and this one does also and the headers and air cleaner look the same.
