Here's the strange thing, I'm 65 and anyone about my age will understand. My wife still has her Mom's 2dr sd '55 BelAir that Mom bought new, given to my wife in '71 a year before we met. It was worth $75 then. I took wife out to dinner in '72...restaurant manager asked me to "please move that junky old car around back".
In "Tri-5 days you had GM line, Ford line, new AMC line ( Nash, Hudson, Rambler), Chrysler line, Studebaker, Packard. Our family had 3 Packards in the 50s.
Similarly equipped, similar model cars were priced similarly. So a Cadillac or Imperial, or base Rambler or Ford whether new or used similar price.
A '57 Chevy in the 70s would be for sale at about the price of a similar '57 Rambler.
There were brand loyal car owners, and you could argue for or against any brand.
Then in the '80s things changed. For whatever reason the Tri-5 Chevy appeal took off, and not because they were the best.
We love Moms/wife's '55...in the family over 60 years and nostalgia and memories, but there are features, design areas we like better on my Nash or Rambler.

  14. Tire irons and a bead hammer. I've seen it done many times with truck tires.
